Handling
1. Highly reactive and corrosive — reacts violently with water and moisture, releasing hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas.
2. Avoid breathing vapors or fumes.
3. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing.
4. Handle under dry, inert atmosphere if possible (e.g., nitrogen blanketing).
5. Use only in well-ventilated areas with local exhaust ventilation.
6. Wear appropriate PPE: chemical-resistant gloves (e.g., Viton®/butyl rubber), chemical goggles/face shield, flame-resistant protective clothing, and respiratory protection if required.
7. Keep away from water, moisture, alcohols, amines, and bases.
